STUDIO MEETING MAY 2009

Due to Twin Towns Eisteddfod, the May Studio Meeting has changed to 9th May.

Same place, same time, different day.

TERM 2 INVOICE CORRECTION 2009

There is an error on the Term 2 invoices. There are no normal classes from Monday 27th to Thursday 30th April (NOT MAY as stated on the invoices).

There are also no normal classes on Monday 20th April - this is a Student Free Day.

Concert Tickets Still Available

For anyone who missed out on getting their concert tickets Sunday 2 November, there are still tickets available.  Please see Kym or Marisa at Reception after 5pm weekdays to purchase you tickets.

Concert DVDs may also be ordered and paid for at reception.

Oh, and if you have not yet brought in a hamper item and scratchie for the Christmas concert raffles, please do so as soon as possible and hand them to the receptionists.  And don’t forget to sell your raffle tickets and return the stubs and money to the receptionsists….yep busy little helpers, these ladies are

Concert Tickets On Sale Sunday 2Nov08!!!

Get your 2008 PPDC Xmas Concert tickets at the studio from 12:30pm on Sunday 2 November.

Whether you are wanting tickets for the Matinee or Evening Concert (or both), please come prepared with what tickets you need to purchase and how you intend to pay for them.  This helps make the process a lot easier.  Also, please be patient and understanding.  As there are many people who need to cycle through the studio on this day and everyone wants good seats, it is important to remember that the people selling tickets on the day are volunteering and are not to blame if you don’t quite get the exact seats you hoped for.  We always try to accomodate everyone as best as we can.

Xmas Concert DVDs should also be ordered and paid for on this day, and you will get your exam results back.  Congratulations to everyone, by the way, as you all did very well in your exams.

Bakery Treats - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

For anyone who is not already aware, we are now selling baked treats at the studio, in addition to the chips, drinks and ice blocks.  As per the other items, this works on an honesty system and the profits go toward fundraising for improved facilities and benefits for your children, so please ensure you place your money in the fridge.  These make a great alternative for morning or afternoon tea for the children and parents alike.

Different tarts and cakes will be available at different times, so check back regularly and look out for your favourite treat.  Currently, there are a variety of items such as:

Lamingtons:  $1 / single or $5 / 6-pack

Tarts (various*):  $2 each

Meringues:  $3 / pack

Truffles (various**):  $2.50 /pack

Coconut Ice:  $2 /pack

Turkish Delight:  $2.50 / pack

*Tart varieties include:

• Caramel Tart (with choc top)

• Caramel & Macadamia Tart

• Cheesecake Tart

• White Marshmallow Tart (with caramel & coconut)

• Pink Marshmallow Tart (with jam and sprinkles)

CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2008

PRESENTATION NIGHT 2008

For those new students this a separate night to present all students with their certificates, medals and trophies. This way each child gets their chance to shine and we don’t have to rush it all at the end of the concert like we used to do. It’s a great idea to have a special night just for the students, where we all get to dress up “noice” and have a good time as well.

Whiteheads will also be there on the night to take photos of every student as they get presented. There will be finger food and some light entertainment and it will be held at Ipswich Civic Centre on Friday 5th December.

XMAS CONCERT 2008

This year the concert is on the Saturday 6th December – matinee is at 1pm and evening is at 6pm (same as last year).

The rehearsal is on Sunday morning 30th November. There are other rehearsals from the 1st to the 4th December. ALL THESE REHEARSALS ARE COMPULSORARY!

I am still deciding on some things for the concert so please don’t ask me questions about it, you will receive a note with all details on it when it is worked out.

If this is not an option then please phone on 3812 0760 (studio) or 0142 352 910 (Miss J’s mobile)  between 10:00 am and 2:00pm Monday to Friday.  Miss Janine is available to answer any questions or offer any information required.  I don’t always get to answer my phone, so therefore always leave a message and I will get back to you asap.  I usually check my emails more than I check my phone messages so you may get a quicker response if you email me.

SECRETARIES 2008

These are the lovely Kym Goody & Marisa Fraser. These ladies will take money, hand out notes, chase items or monies owed and offer any information to those who are in need of it. Please make sure you check with them before you go home each time to see if there are any notes or messages for you. There is also a noticeboard next to the counter that will have all notes and messages displayed on it so please make sure you check it. There are extra notes on the counter if you didn’t get them or have misplaced them.

If you have a problem with anything please do not take it out on the secretaries, as they are only the messengers, contact me (Miss Janine)  instead and I will deal with the problem. Also, please check the times the secretaries will be working. Sometimes these ladies are at the studio and are simply there to pick up their child, not doing secretarial duties. Quite often they are asked to do things when they are not working here or have finished and trying to get home to their families. I think sometimes people forget this. They do a wonderful job and make things a lot easier for the other families too.
