Principal Janine Slag (CSTD) formed Performance Plus Dance Centre (PPDC) in 1997, starting out with a mere 20 something students. Miss Janine has since grown the studio to over 300 students (ages 2 – adult) in less than 10 years. PPDC, based at Woodend, provides an outlet and education to local children outside the school environment, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and teaching them not only music & dance, but discipline, confidence, self-respect and respect of others. Miss Janine and her students have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the Ipswich and wider community through contributions to the arts, including but not limited to:
· Co-ordination and execution of public performances in the Ipswich City Mall
· Choreograph performances for the Annual Mayor’s Ball
· Performances at school fetes and community fundraisers
· Annual Christmas Concert held at the Ipswich Civic Hall
· Participation in the Annual Ipswich Festival Parade and Christmas Parade
· Provides volunteers, performs and assists in organisation of both the Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod and the Ipswich Combined Teachers Dance Eisteddfod
· Assists local choirs (Cambrians & Orpheus) with productions
Performance Plus provides the following classes:
· Kindermovement (2-4 years)
· Tap (4 years and over)
· Ballet (4 years and over)
· Jazz / Modern / Hip Hop (4 years and over)
· Acrobatic (4 years and over)
· Singing
· Drama
· Holiday Workshops
· Adult Tap & Jazz (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced)
